Ravens Wont Reveal Starting Offensive Line Ahead Of Regular Season Opener Are Open To Rotating Players

Ravens won't reveal starting offensive line ahead of regular season opener; are open to rotating players

Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh says he won't name his starting offensive line before the team's regular season opener against the New York Jets on September 11th.

Harbaugh said he wants to see how the players perform in the preseason before making a decision. He also said he's open to rotating players along the offensive line during the regular season.

The Ravens have several players who are competing for starting jobs on the offensive line. Ronnie Stanley is expected to start at left tackle, but the rest of the line is up for grabs.

Bradley Bozeman is the favorite to start at center, but Patrick Mekari and Trystan Colon are also in the mix. At right guard, Kevin Zeitler is the favorite, but Ben Cleveland and Tyre Phillips are also in the mix.

At right tackle, Patrick Mekari is the favorite, but Alejandro Villanueva and Daniel Faalele are also in the mix. Harbaugh said he's not sure how many players he'll rotate along the offensive line during the regular season, but he's open to doing so.

"I think it's something that we'll have to see how it goes," Harbaugh said. "We've got some guys that can play multiple positions. We've got some guys that are versatile. I think it's something that we'll have to see how it goes and make a decision as we go."

The Ravens are hoping to improve their offensive line play in 2022. The team allowed 42 sacks last season, which was tied for the sixth-most in the NFL.

The Ravens also struggled to run the ball last season, finishing 28th in the NFL in rushing yards per game. Harbaugh said he believes the team's offensive line can be a strength in 2022.

"I think we've got a chance to be a really good offensive line," Harbaugh said. "We've got some really good players. We've got some guys that are experienced. We've got some guys that are young and hungry. I think we've got a chance to be a really good offensive line."
